The above sentiment was common from self-described introverted/shy people in the Networking Effectiveness and Enjoyment survey (with hundreds of respondents ending 2009).

  • “It is difficult to get past the superficial level.” (A.P.)
  • “I feel that my ability to network is poor compared to my colleagues and friends.” (M.C.)
  • “Networking is a painful process for me.  I am an introvert by nature and it is an effort to engage in the networking process.” (M.J.)
  • “It’s awkward going up to strangers making small talk, and beating-round-the-bush as to why you’re really there.” (B.R.)

If you resonate with these comments, then you’ll appreciate the “B’friendship” [business friendship] mindset.

In our ever-changing and competitive economy, building a functional professional network is one of the highest value activities one can pursue — whether for new clients, for present or future need of employment, for good employees, or for various kinds of business partners!

So on 11:00 am PST / 2:00 pm EST this Friday 12/4, I’ll be repeating the pilot of a new teleseminar to help people on the introverted/shy end of the continuum become conscious of their networking in order to improve it.

Like breathing, it is something we do every day — and like breathing, we rarely every focus on improving our skill.  And, consciousness is 51% of the work in addressing any problem!

Applying any one of the ideas/techniques in this virtual classroom could be worth tens of thousands of dollars/pounds/francs/euros in a career, in a new job, in pure satisfaction and good karma from referrals.

Just the cost of mileage/tolls/ferries/parking to attend a networking class downtown could exceed $30, before the class fee and learning a thing!

Space on the call is limited, so take advantage of this Thanksgiving gift asap.  I look forward to hearing what you take away from this teleseminar.
